Welcome to Madison Barracks
Madison Barracks merges the old and the new in a dramatic setting for gracious year 'round living. More than 115 landscaped acres on the shoreline of Lake Ontario create a picture-book panorama for 30 timeless, brick and stone buildings, each renovated with every modern amenity for the ultimate in comfort and convenience.
For almost two centuries the limestone and brick structures of Madison Barracks have helped to protect and preserve our nation. Founded because of the areas strategic importance during the War of 1812, the Barracks has aided our country in every war from the War of 1812 to World War II. Today despite years of abandonment and disrepair the Barracks is once again bustling with activity. In the words of General Jacob Brown (1819) “they will endure for the ages, a monument to the folly and the wisdom of those by whom they were erected”. No visitor today can help but awe for this historic place which for so many years, served so many.
Madison Barracks features rehabilitated and new residential and commercial buildings in dignified architectural harmony. Single family waterfront and water view homes, market rate apartments, townhouse rentals, hotel, retail businesses, restaurants, marina and a family health care facility is Madison Barracks today. It offers its residents, guest and visitors an exceptional blend of recreational, social and educational activities within the site.
